Twinkle, Twinkle - but not as we know it

A reworking of an old favourite for National Poetry Day 2021:

Twinkle, twinkle little star,
how I wonder what you are.
Up above the world so high
like a diamond in the sky.
Twinkle, twinkle little star,
how I wonder what you are.

Racing light from shining star
bounces to us from afar;
bending through the layers of space,
twinkles to the human race.
Racing light from shining star
bounces to us from afar.
